On Friday, September 25th, 2015, Pope Francis travelled via motorcade through Central Park to meet and greet New Yorkers. This happened shortly after his visit to Our Lady Queen of Angels school and before the Madison Square Mass at 6 p.m that same day.

The Central Park Papal Procession took place on Central Park’s West Drive between 72nd and 60th Street.

Your best shot at seeing the Pope is to attend the Festival of Families and World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia (which are free to the public). First you will need to purchase a special papal transit pass from SEPTA (see septa.org) or a similar public transit system in philadelphia for the papal visit as no vehicular traffic will be allowed within the city.

            Hi Marie,

I have personally talked with a NYC government representative via 311 and they said that tickets can be given away at the winner’s discretion but not sold. He also said there was no information he could see that barred winners from giving tickets to folks that aren’t residents of New York.

But, so far none. If anyone out there is willing to part with theirs for some reason, PLEASE, I would love to have your pass and will be forever grateful to you.
Thank you in advance to whoever would respond…

See our event pages for his schedule. You don’t need tickets for the papal mass and festival of families. You will need a public transit pass which you can purchase from one of the links here: http://www.worldmeeting2015.org/resources/

It is not fair for us in other countries all the events are public without tickets. Anyway I’m going to the city and I hope that I can see pope Francis

I don’t have friends who work for NYC and we don’t have a lot of money. We are just regular NYC folks paying our bills and hassling to make a living in the Big Apple but we won 2 tickets fair and square. It was like winning the lottery. That’s all. Surely there are people who got tickets from their relatives or friends in NYC administration but I still believe (or want to believe) that majority of ticket holders are regular contest participants like ourselves.

          Festival of Families
          Washington D.C. Papal Parade

Please visit the event pages on our site for more information on these events. If you are travelling to Philadelphia, vehicular access is blocked for the city, so you will need to purchase a special public papal visit transit pass from septa.org.

I live in Orange County NY and have a guest ticket for anyone who would like to travel with me to go to the Central Park procession on Friday, 25. I can’t get a family member to go, due to their busy lives and those loved ones who want to go, live too far away and can’t be available for this. I have a lot of anxiety about going to NYC alone, let alone for an event like this and this many people who are suppose to be attending. But I believe I really need this experience. That’s why I initially applied for tickets. My goal is to get a ticket(s) ahead of time to take the Metro North train from Beacon NY, then take it from there.

My mother & I are both in power wheelchairs. 33 & 60 and I am upset not getting tickets but realizing it’s because people who are not in wheelchairs have requested those tickets and even selling them on Craigs & ebay. it’s rally upsetting and this happens for most event and someone needs to start cracking down on this at venues. They need to ask for a dr. note or something. I just can’t believe people would take those seats away from people who need them & then prey on the sick a d disabled and try to sell or swap them. all I can do is pray for them and I like to think my prayers will be answered for tickets. but if not will receive blessing through the TV

The confirmation notice states that tickets will be delivered via e-mail on September 21. Those who did not receive yet their tickets, please check your previous e-mails before that date. Most people received their tickets on September 18.

    Hi,
Can I bring food? Like a small picnic in a bag? Will that be a problem? Will there be food vendors there? I am visiting with 3 children one is disabled. The instructions say to try to be there by 11 AM and the pope isn’t coming by until closer to 5:30PM. It’s a long day not to have any food.

    Thank you,
    Mia

Is the motorcade inside Central Park or going into Central Park? Where and what streets would the Pope be passing by? We would really love to see the Pope even on a motorcade .

I have two tickets and am planning on sending my 14 and 16 tear old together, do you think they will have an issue being under 18 and without a guardian?

    • Joseph Feeley

      says on:
      September 25, 2015 at 2:46 pm

      Hi Dennis,

Do NOT attempt this. Entrants under 18 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult or guardian and each individual will require one (1) ticket to enter.

Hi! If anyone has a spare ticket, my mom is a devout Christian visiting from Australia and would absolutely love to see the Pope in Central Park!

We live close by so she is able to go even at the last minute and we could pick up the ticket. Your ticket couldn’t go to a nicer or more grateful person😀

I wish I knew there was a lottery, but my life quote is “everything happens for a reason”. Possibly this is not the right time for me although hopefully will be an event in the future for my children. There are probably soooo many people out there in need to see the Pope, more than myself right now. Anyway, I feel that I am really blessed by keeping God close to my heart everyday and trying to instill this belief onto my children. I will pray tremendously for the safety of our Journey. I am sure security is very tight, although there are a lot of really dangerous people and groups out there. I pray nothing happens and that Pope Francis and all of the people in NYC going to this special event enjoy there visit. I hope to catch it on television. God Bless, Theresa

Where specifically will the gates into the park be ? since you can only enter at ‘your’ gate, I’d hate to visit all of them before being allowed the honor of standing around for four or five hours…
